NOTES

Mary HALES (J627) is mentioned (as Mary HEWIT) in the will of her brother George HAILS of Navenby (written 6 Apr 1696 and proved 27 Aug 1698, Lincoln Consistory) along with her children Elizabeth, Ann & Judith DIGHTON. George also mentions (amongst others) his sister Joan RIDGE and several of her children. However, I have as yet been unable to confirm if Mary, George and Joan were born in Navenby or who their parents were.

Variant spellings of the surname DIGHTON include DEETON, DEIGHTON, DETAN, DITTON, DYGHTON etc
