Yalding Parish Registers
Yalding parish church is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, and registers date from 1559. There is a published indexed transcript 1559-1812, and although I used this originally to extract most of the pre-1813 entries below, I have since checked all these against the original registers. I extracted the post-1813 baptisms, marriages and burials from the original registers, but the list of marriages below is not quite complete from 1837 as it does not include those for which I already had a marriage certificate.
Below the list of Yalding baptisms are a few which I extracted from the registers for St Margaret, Collier Street. Although originally in the parish of Yalding, Collier Street became a parish in its own right in 1858, and had its own baptism and burial registers from 1848. I also checked the Collier Street burials registers to 1917, but didn't find any SOLMAN entries.

Yalding Overseers' Accounts
These records survive from 1658, and I extracted the names below from the earliest surviving account books (on film). However, I did not check through the whole of these books in detail so the lists below are not necessarily complete. Marriage Licences
I have checked for Canterbury marriage licences in published indexes 1568-1837, and the details of the licence below are taken from these. For Rochester I have checked the manuscript indexes 1637-1840 (on fiche); however, there are no surviving licence bonds and allegations earlier than 1637, and those after 1637 are far from complete - missing years include 1640-1714 and 1717-1730.

Kent Hearth Tax 1664
The entry below is taken from a published transcript of the Kent Hearth Tax 1664. However, I suspect that it may have been mistranscribed and actually relates to Absolom SOMAN. I have tried to check the original hearth tax documents, but in the time available could not locate the listing for Yalding amongst the numerous items in the bundle.

Manor Records
There were several manors which held land in the parish of Yalding, including Aylesford, Jennings Court, Loddingford (also known as Bermondsey) and Yalding, and in some cases records have survived from the late 13th century. So far I have only searched through the manor records held at the Centre for Kentish Studies, and have focussed my search primarily on those from the mid 16th to mid 18th centuries which included information such as names of tenants, with the aim of sorting out the SOLMANs recorded (under a variety of different spellings) in the earlier Yalding registers. The entries below are the only ones of relevance which I found.
The Manor of Loddingford court book 1680-1806, from which (on film) I extracted the details given below, appears to be the only one from that manor to have survived, and contains entries for occasional dates only. The first entry was a list of tenants in 1680, but this did not include any SOLMANs. (Loddingford was in the parish of Yalding and is now known as Laddingford.)
Some 14th century records from the Manor of Yalding have been transcribed and published for educational purposes, including a list of the population of the manor in 1336. However, no one with the surname SOLMAN or any recognisable variant is mentioned in this publication.
Manor of Loddingford Court Book (1680 - 1806 - but contains entries for occasional dates only)
1716 Oct 4: item relating to premises held by Henry SOLMAN, now deceased, being one tenement and one acre of land, at an annual rent of 1½d, and other services according to the custom of the manor, which at his death was promised to his wife, who is now the wife of Robert FRY. Robert FRY now holds these premises.
1725 Oct 1: item relating to premises held by Robert FRY, being one messuage or tenement with one acre of land, late SOLMAN's and before FLEET's, by the yearly rent of 1½d.
1740 May 30: item relating to premises held by George (altered from Edward) SOLMAN, being one messuage with the appurtenances, one garden and one croft of land, lying in Loddingford Street and estimated at one acre, formerly HUMPHREY's, by the yearly rent of 6d and one hen. Also, one messuage or tenement with one acre of land, late SOLMAN's and before FLEET's, by the yearly rent of 1½d.
1777 Aug 4: states that George SOLMAN has now died, and that in his will he devised the aforesaid premises to his sons Absolom and George SOLMAN, and his daughter Ann, wife of William COOMBER. They have sold the premises to John CASTLEDEN.

The following are items that I have noted in passing rather than as part of a systematic search in these records. The details from the Quarter Sessions come from a photocopy of the original order book, whilst the relief payments were transcribed from the original vestry and account book (on film). The details of the indenture were found on the Access to Archives website, but I have not yet had the opportunity to view the original document, which is held at the Northamptonshire Archives.

Ann also ordered to pay 6d per week towards her child's maintenance.
